Eid-ul-Azha, one of the most important Islamic festivals, was observed with great enthusiasm across West Bengal, including the city of Siliguri.
Thousands of members from the Muslim community gathered on Red Road in Kolkata to offer Eid-ul-Azha prayers early in the morning, seeking blessings from Allah for their well-being. Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee extended her warm wishes on this auspicious occasion.
In addition to Kolkata, Eid-ul-Azha prayers took place in various districts of Bengal, followed by the traditional ritual of animal sacrifice. Eid-ul-Azha holds significant religious importance and is celebrated worldwide by Muslims, who come together with their loved ones to commemorate the occasion.
In North Bengal, Muslim devotees gathered at mosques to offer prayers on the day of Eid-ul-Azha. In Siliguri, people were seen participating in prayer rituals at the Jama Masjid near Safdar Hashmi Chowk since early morning. People of all ages joined in offering prayers and exchanging greetings with one another.
The festive atmosphere prevailed throughout the day as people came together to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha, spreading joy and harmony among communities.
